Facebook has released an update to its social sharing buttons and now "Like" will act much more like "Share."
What's new? Previously, when you choose to click on the Like button, only a link to the story would appear in your recent activity, and often it went completely unnoticed by users. Now after hitting the Like or Recommend button, a full story with a headline, blurb and image will be posted to your profile wall. It will also come with an option to leave a comment, which was previously possible only if you purposely share a story to Facebook.

Groupon rejects a Google takeover bid rumored to be a hefty $5.3 billion.
It might come as no surprise that Groupon’s board said no to what would have been the largest acquisition in Google’s history, especially if the Groupon’s $2 billion revenue figure, reported by AllThingsD, is correct.
The rejection from the startup looks like a big blow for Google. If happened, the deal would give Google superb positioning to expand local search, tapping into the relationships Groupon has already cultivated with local merchants and small businesses.

According to a source, who asked to speak on condition of anonymity, on Monday during its special event, Facebook is expected to reveal an overhauled version of Messages that will include a personal @facebook.com email addresses for users. This doesn't come as a big surprise – a rumor that exists a secret project officially known as Project Titan and unofficially as "Gmail killer" has been circulating since February.
With its more than 500 million users around the world, and Americans spending more of their time online with Facebook than with any other internet company, this might seem as a smart move which will further sharpen Facebook’s competition with Google. The tech industry analysts believe that a Facebook email system, coupled to its popular photo and events programs, could become a strong rival to Gmail.

Facebook is losing access to Gmail data due to a small tweak in Google's term of services, and as TechCrunch reports it is because Facebook doesn’t want to share its social graph data with Google. Hm...
With the fierce competition between Google and Facebook on several fronts (advertising, location-based services, its search deal with Bing, etc.), Google has made it clear that it's willing to put its hands on the valuable information Facebook has on its more than 500 million users.

Yesterday was a great day for Mozilla, which was celebrating a major milestone: add-on downloads reached the 2 billion mark. The first billion downloads were passed in November, 2008.
Despite the fierce competition in the browser war, Firefox is still the second most used browser on the planet (after Microsoft's Internet Explorer), and the add-ons have always been a key part of its growth in popularity. Nearly 150 million add-ons are used every single day at least once.

The idea of bringing the Internet on the home television is not new, but the projects so far, such as Apple TV, have not been a real success.
Google TV is the new Google project, recently presented in San Francisco at the Google I / OR 2010. With this move, the web giant is trying to revolutionize TV as we know. Google TV is a new experience for television that combines the TV that you already know with the freedom and power of the Internet.

Ever wondering where the Internet behemoth is headed when it comes to its Chrome OS operating system and its Chrome browser? Here is the key. This week at the Google I/O conference Google gave a sneak peek of its Chrome Web Store, Google's forthcoming one-stop shop for Web-based apps, both free and paid.
The grand opening of the Chrome Web Store will happen "later this year."
